Elise Blair Bagnoli
Elise Blair Bagnoli (b. 1998) is an Italian-American artist whose work centers around expansive worldbuilding through a multidisciplinary practice. Rooted in storytelling and a personal mythology, she explores body and environment. Approaching the work through an anthropomorphic lens she uses a lexicon of recurring motifs as tools to construct an evolving narrative. Spilling out is a language that blurs the lines between internal reflection and external observation in an intuitive process guided by color, texture, and pattern.
Raised in Ohio, Elise received her BFA from The Ohio State University in 2020. Later moving to Chicago to complete a Post-Baccularette certificate in 2021 and MFA in 2023. Deeply connected to her Italian heritage, she has participated in two residencies there; The Arquotopia Residency in Naples and Rural Contemporary Residency in the Cammino San Vili region. Recently, participating in the Mothership NYC residency in Brooklyn as well as the Ox-Bow school of Art in Michigan.
